My cousin, Manong Teddy (Donato) is the one the Governor is closest to in my Pops' sister's family. The sad part about it is that he had just died due to a serious illness a few months ago. Therefore it is his younger brother, Manong Steve, is the one we are asking help from now.
It was so happened that it's harvest time again and Steve will be going back to Vigan, Ilocos Norte to supervise their farmers. He told my Mom when they spoke last Monday that it looks like the story, as Driver Rodriguez told the governor, had already been twisted.
He said that he will be going back to Vigan this coming Thursday to harvest. And since that would be the case, he told my Mom to tell my Pops to write a personal letter addressed to the governor to tell him what had happened to to explain that we don't have other sources of income and we're just living by whatever retirement pay he got from being a Dental professor at the College of Dentisty, Univerysity of the Philippines.
We don't know what will happen next, but we are praying hard that the governor will use wise judgement on the matter and consider helping us since it was "his" driver who drove recklessly causing the accident to happen.
As I write, the letter my Dad had composed and printed is already in my cousin Steve's care. He's leaving for Vigan tomorrow and will be hand-carrying the letter to his auntie, who happens to be one of the governor's ex-concubines. We're hoping that she would be able to help us settle this issue with the politician since rumor has it that the latter still likes her.
I feel that what we fear the most is already happening ... not getting what we truly deserve from the accident that took place last Sunday.
you make my life perfect-`
